Blind Fitness Hosts Golf Clinic to Ready Athletes for Winter Golf Classic

Blind Fitness invites blind and low-vision participants, along with sighted guides and volunteers who support adaptive sports, to join an Adaptive Golf Clinic designed to introduce the game of golf and build readiness for the 2026 Howard Shaw Memorial California Blind, Adaptive & Disabled Winter Golf Classic.

The clinic, hosted in partnership with the Olde School Golf School, will be led by golf coach Robert Kotowski, P.G.A., who is known for his expertise, leadership, and dedication to training adaptive athletes.

Blind and low-vision golfers of all experience levels, from beginners to those looking to strengthen their skills, are welcome to attend.

The clinic will offer hands-on learning, adaptive strategies, and one-on-one instruction in stance, swing and putting, all within a supportive, encouraging, and community-centered environment, Blind Fitness said.

Blind Fitness also welcomes sighted volunteers who are interested in learning how to guide, support, and empower blind and low-vision athletes.

No prior golf or guiding experience is required, just a willingness to learn and a desire to make a meaningful impact, organizers said.

Volunteers will be introduced to guiding techniques and the fundamentals of adaptive golf while working alongside participants and experienced coaches.

“Our goal is to build access for blind and low vision athletes while cultivating a strong and ever-growing sense of community with skilled sighted guides,” said Tania Isaac-Dutton, executive director of Blind Fitness.

“With Coach Kotowski leading this event, participants and volunteers alike will walk away inspired, empowered, and ready for the Howard Shaw Memorial Classic,” Isaac-Dutton said.
